According to the Russian-language Wikipedia, the railway station at Chernyshevskoye (former Eydtkuhnen) was closed in post-1945 Soviet days as it was no longer needed for border-control purposes and the small community of Chernyshevskoye could be served by the railway station in the nearby and more important community of Kybartai. However, it also goes on to say (if I've understood it correctly) that the re-establishment since 1991 of an international frontier between Kybartai (Lithuania) and Chernyshevskoye (Russia) has lead to a renewed need for there to be a border-control point on the Kaliningrad (i.e. Russian) side of the border, and that construction of a new passenger station – the plans for which were approved in 2001 – was underway in 2008.
