In the "Early life" section, "Following a hair-pulling cat-fight" is not encyclopedic language. I suggest something like "Following a playground altercation with a female classmate". 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 04:24, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

It violates WP:NPOV and it's degrading to women. It doesn't matter whether it comes out of the source, we are obligated to paraphrase those sources, especially when their tone violates neutrality. Would you prefer that we discuss plagiarism instead? 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 05:15, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not done: Plagiarism has nothing to do with it. Please actually read the WP:NPOV policy, because there nothing neutral about your request here. Especially note this part: Neutrality requires that each article or other page in the mainspace fairly represent all significant viewpoints that have been published by reliable sources... In June 15, Lloyd was the featured vocalist on a track called "4U", her fist release since "Activated" in 2016, and should be included in the page. Beastbrat (talk) 20:18, 24 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

NEEDS AN UPDATED PICTURE!

edit

Can someone please change Cher Lloyd's picture to something more recent? I have a suggestion: http://coolspotters.com/musicians/cher-lloyd. The "I Wish" promotional picture. Thanks!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Julianmbk2 (talkcontribs) 06:12, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • You would either need a free-use image or have the original creator of a photo email WikiMedia Commons about copyright. The current image is fine though imo as Lloyd has not changed that much in appearance. Aoba47 (talk) 01:34, 22 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

None of my business is not the lead single from her third album

edit

Nowhere in the source provided does it say anything about it being a lead single + billboard called MIA the lead single from her third album www.billboard.com/amp/articles/columns/pop/8532778/cher-lloyd-mia DMMM 03:03, 17 October 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by DontMindMeMkay (talkcontribs)

  • That is a good point. I will remove it for now, as the current information/sourcing seems to suggestion "M.I.A." is the lead single instead. Thank you for bringing this up. Aoba47 (talk) 00:12, 30 November 2019 (UTC) morningReply

Cher needs to have an updated image on her Wikipedia page. That one is from 2011-12 but there are ample amounts of photos from 2020 to use for her. for example this one https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cher_Lloyd_-_Promo_Picture_Oct_22_2018.jpg FarisLloyd (talk) 02:23, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

That image has been deleted. – Thjarkur (talk) 10:30, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

What happened to Cher’s birthdate?

edit

What happened to Cher’s birthdate? It seems to have disappeared from the infobox. Her birthdate is July 28th, 1993. Can someone please add it? I would do it myself, except the page is under extended protection, and I am a new user and can not edit it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crazychickennthang (talkcontribs) 01:59, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Crazychickennthang: From what source did you get the birthdate? —C.Fred (talk) 19:51, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I got her birthdate from Google the first time, but it’s also on Famous Birthdays. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crazychickennthang (talkcontribs) 20:00, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Crazychickennthang: Famous Birthdays is not a reliable source. Google in and of itself is not a valid source; we need to know what website the information came from. It is possible that their date is from a cached version of a Wikipedia page! —C.Fred (talk) 20:02, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I will try to find an article that mentions her birthdate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crazychickennthang (talkcontribs) 20:04, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I think this twitter status from Cher herself might confirm her birthday is 28 July [1] RM Jessie (talk) 02:55, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Cher Lloyd updated picture usage

edit

Hello! I am Mila Austin and I have worked with Cher Lloyd on multiple occasions. I took to Wikipedia and I saw that Cher's images were extremely outdated and I decided to take it into my own hands to upload my photographic content to Wikipedia. I am now requesting it be added as her image here on her main Wikipedia page. Again her current picture is from 2011 I believe and that is in fact a decade ago. I uploaded works from 2020 which is very suitable for her wiki. Thank you so much in advance for changing it! Here is the file.

@Mila Austin: As photographer, you retained copyright to the picture and made the decision to donate it? —C.Fred (talk) 16:46, 30 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@C.Fred: Yes! I do still have copyright. You can view proof here on Universal Music Germany's official site! I also don't really understand what you mean by donate but yes I did decide to upload these myself! Thank you!

@Mila Austin: Since the UMG site shows copyright without a specific license, you may need to email Wikimedia Commons to confirm the license...but that's a matter that would come to them.
By donate, I mean placing the image under a free license so it can be used without restrictions and with only attribution of the source required. —C.Fred (talk) 19:11, 30 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

This line from the second paragraph reads a bit subjective/editorialized-

Her next song "Oath", featuring American rapper Becky G, failed to match the success, peaking at 73.

A more streamlined sentence would sound more professional. Suggested edit:
