I'm working on it. Give me a few minutes at least!

page move

edit

I just moved this page from Cheese Board Collective there were several reasons for the move but the biggest one is that the actual name seems to contain The (or does on their website anyway). Dalf | Talk 09:18, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've moved it back to Cheese Board Collective. Please see Wikipedia:Naming conventions#Avoid the definite article ("the") and the indefinite article ("a"/"an") at the beginning of the page name. Mike Dillon 18:35, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
According to that it SHOULD be at The as the actual name *IS* The Cheese Board Collective the examples on the page you listed agree with this. We do not for example put The Old Man and the Sea at Old Man and the Sea. Looking around on google seems to who that Caps T is inconsistent (sometimes even within the same article inside running text. Either way as long as the redirect still comes here it does not matter. I think the fact that "The" is not bolded in the article and would look strange in bold shows that "The" doesn't need to be in the article title. It also is not capitalized throughout the article as it would be for The Old Man and the Sea. I think the exception for "The" is mainly for published works where the official title has "The". I'm not going to fight it either way, it just seems like "The" should be avoided unless it is really necessary. Mike Dillon 22:35, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think that is the case because the original author did not think that The was part of the name, if the article has staied at the moved to name I woudl have suggested making those changes. I disagree that such a naming convention is only for published works, there are many places objects and such which The as parts of their offical names. In this case I think it is unclear if this is the case and so either name is acceptable. I looked around and it seems to me that it is almost always refred to with the article but only with capitol T outside of the beginning of a sentance about 20-30% of the time so this name is acceptable to me outside other evidence.
