Whoa, deja vu edit

The whole history section is copied from here. Is there a reason it needs to be done twice? TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 13:57, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reorganization of Checker-related articles edit

These articles are a real mess right now. There are currently the following articles about Checker companies and products:

  • Checker Motors Corporation: This article. Covers the manufacturer and its vehicles, but long and poorly organized.
  • Checker Taxi: A mix of content about the Checker Taxi family of vehicles and the history of the Checker Taxi service in Chicago
  • Checker Model A: A minimal stub about this one pre-WWII Taxi model
  • Checker Aerobus: Start-class article about these variant vehicles based on the Taxi.
  • Checker Superba: Uncited stub about the consumer car that preceded the Marathon
  • Checker Marathon: The consumer version of the Taxi

I think the articles could be reorganized something like this:

  • Checker Motors Corporation should be strictly about the manufacturing company
  • Checker Taxi (Chicago) about the namesake taxi service (which both preceded and outlived the Checker Motors Corporation)
  • List of Checker Taxi companies (or something in this vein) to cover the many taxi lines in other cities also called Checker
  • List of Checker Motors Corporation vehicles mostly to collect the stubs of information about the pre-war models
  • Checker A series (as a hopefully reasonable compromise title) about the most notable Checker vehicles, the A2 through A11
  • Checker Marathon about the civilian cars, probably including a section for the Superba which doesn't need its own article at this point
