Distance edit
"Chasquis had to be fit and agile because they could, and would, run 240 km per day."
No - a message could travel 240 kms per day, carried by various chasquis (running at an average speed of 10 km/hour).
Chasquis were stationed at tambos, each about 14 km apart. When a runner arrived at the next waystation a fresh runner would take over the message and run the next 14 km.
Yes, these were probably fit and agile men. But not superhuman beings.
As soon as I find the correct reference again I'll post it here. Until then, I'm at least removing this nonsense about a person running 240 kilometers per day. Renate (talk) 16:54, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
"khipu" edit
Although the linked article on quipus does say the word can be spelled this way, "quipu" is by far the most common rendering, and is used everywhere else in this article. For consistency's stake I think "khipu" should be replaced here.213.127.210.95 (talk) 17:24, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
