Reviews edit

Could we discuss the inclusion of reviews in the first paragraph of the article? There's the beginnings of an edit war, and I'm not sure it's suitable to include these for a living person.Pkeets (talk) 12:48, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well-sourced information like this is appropriate to include in a BLP article even if it's negative. It is not OK to put it in the lead. WP:LEAD requires the lead section to be an overview of the rest of the article. If something isn't mentioned in the body, it doesn't belong in the lead. Also, reviews included should reflect the viewpoints of notable critics. If Charlie Siem has been reviewed by others, then it is a violation of WP:UNDUE to include only one negative review when other reviews (negative or positive) should be reported also. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:33, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

My suggestion is to create a Reviews section to include them. Can we do that?Tryominz (talk) 07:29, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sure, that would be fine. "Reviews" or "Reception" or "Critical reception", whatever is appropriate. Just be sure the reviews are from reliable sources. You don't have to include all reviews that can be found, but just a representative sampling. For example if you find 5 negative reviews and 15 positive reviews, it's fair to present one negative and two positives, reflecting the weight of reviewer opinions. ~Amatulić (talk) 16:20, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Billionaire? edit

I notice a disagreement on this. I don't know that this information adds to the article, and it is apparently unsourced. I'd vote for using a description like "Norwegian businessman" or something such for the father. Pkeets (talk) 18:00, 29 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

The father, Kristian Siem has his own wikipage and is a billionaire, listed by Forbes http://www.forbes.com/profile/kristian-siem/ His father isn't just a businessman, he is a billionaire that leads a Fortune 500 company. Also owner of Siem_Offshore - (John40332 (talk) 12:28, 30 June 2014 (UTC))Reply

Still, "billionaire" sounds a bit snide, as if that's why Charlie is successful, rather than his musical talent. I'm not sure it's neutral point of view. Couldn't we come up with a better description of Kristian Siem? Maybe "highly successful businessman"? Put the man's name and a link in and people who are interested can check him out.Pkeets (talk) 01:01, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

On another note, there is a Conflict of interest since Mvedel or Martinvedel is Charlie Siem's personal manager, who removes any information that doesn't fit the curriculum vitae style of this page. It really doesn't read like a biography but more like a concert schedule. http://uk.linkedin.com/in/martinvedel — Preceding unsigned comment added by John40332 (talkcontribs) 16:30, 30 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree that listing all the performances is a bit over the top. The Wikipedia page is an encyclopedia entry rather than a platform for promotion. Pkeets (talk) 01:01, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Issues with schedule edit

The usual solution for undesirable edits is to lock the article except for autoconfimed users. If you block him, he will likely just establish a different account. Another solution is to just let him trash the article up. It doesn't reflect well on Charlie to have an article that looks so messy and unencyclopedic. Related to Ole Bull edit

Hi there. I edited the claim that he is distantly related to famous Ole Bull. His own website claims this and its used a reference. Need a better reference before he can claim this ? 62.16.138.57 (talk) 22:01, 23 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
