The name of the boat that exploded was
El Phileen II.
It was owned by Charles and Gladys’ lifelong friends, HD and Irene Fowler. I was aboard as the ten year old grandson and by the time my grandmother and I escaped our lower cabin several brave small boaters had arrived to take us off the burning boat without getting our feet wet. Memorable day.
