When the portrait by Velazquez is mentioned, do you mean this painting? Because it is not a portrait of Phillip IV but rather of Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand of Austria... There is a portrait of Phillip IV hunting, but the dog doesn't appear to be sniffing his crotch as it is in the image of Don Fernando de Austria. Lithoderm 21:53, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Are you serious? The nose of neither dog is anywhere near the crotch or codpiece. These are just dogs looking up at their masters. Caeruleancentaur (talk) 14:29, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
The first paragraph of the article states that this painting was created in 1799. The statement "Goya had painted Carlos IV's father in 1799, when the artist himself was a young man" from the third paragraph cannot also be true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lytsar (talk • contribs) 17:51, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
