Sources edit

I have worked on this information from a number of sources to try and complete the one comprehensive internet bio available anywhere on this person. I have marked notes for what I believe would be any question as to the source of the statements. As with any person's life, there is good and there is bad to report. Both are highlighted here. NPOV was a major consideration.

All of the statements that can be termed "negative" were from interviews the person mentioned participated in and are from his own words.

Both sources have given their permission to quote.

An attempt is being made to contact the person the bio is about to ask for their advisement referencing any inaccuracies, exclusions or clarifications. trezjr 19:36, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

No homepage... edit

Many have asked why put anything in the "homepage" section of the actors' bio box if there is no official website?

Why not? 2 reasons.

First, it saves the user a lot of wasted time on search engines looking for one.

Second, it gives the impetus for these poeple to get an official website!

'Nuff said?

One Step Beyond edit

The series One Step Beyond has not been credited to Charles Herbert. In the show "Epilogue" Herbert plays the son of an alcoholic whose mother dies in a mine cave in but is seen by people in the town telling them to find here son who is also trapped.

Please add this to his credits.

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Charles Herbert/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

See if you can expand the lead per WP:LEAD -- do you have any other references to draw from besides the interview?
Okay. Will do that. Subject being out of the public eye for almost 50 years, research material is scant, at best; however, will do more research.

No money claim? edit

There's a quote about Herbert having hardly any money because "zero had been put away in the bank for me" in the Personal life section. This may be a valid quote, but I don't see how, as "one of the most-desired and highest-paid child actors of his time", there was no legally-required savings account set-up for him under the Coogan Act, which would have been law for about 30 years come his 21st birthday. I don't disbelieve him entirely, but is his quote totally valid given the legal requirement to save some of his earnings? Because I'm aware of the Coogan Act being in place (though not the specifics) this dubious claim to being penniless has an unexplained gap in it. If there were no savings, how was this possible, did someone ignore the law or use a loophole to avoid it? I think it needs some explanation. 82.26.59.181 (talk) 17:49, 1 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Gap in the story edit

With no family of his own, Herbert took nearly 40 years to turn his life around.

We can't visualise what he was actually doing during those 40 years, except that We know that drugs came into the picture. Any enlightenment? Valetude (talk) 17:50, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
