General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

Epicgenius - Is this a pass? Could I get the {{DYKtick}}? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:25, 28 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • @Lee Vilenski: No major problems with the article, however, you may want to get the citation-needed tag fixed before this appears on DYK. epicgenius (talk) 12:34, 28 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi, I came by to promote this. Could you please tidy up the grammar in this sentence: In 1905 he took what? place in his first world carrom championships, at the and by 1907 huh? reached second place, which he accomplished again in 1910. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 00:27, 29 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Thank you. I cleaned up other language in the article; it read like a bad translation. Restoring tick per Epicgenius' review. Yoninah (talk) 13:25, 2 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

I will gladly review this. The review should be ready shortly. An anonymous username, not my real name (talk) 16:50, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid there are too many serious errors for such a short article. I've compiled them and some more minor things as well.

  • Infobox should have more information added.
  • The citation in the lead shouldn't be necessary because the information can be found in the body.
  • His birthday is never mentioned in the article.
  • Rename the career section to something like "Early life and career".
  • He visited the United States and spent several months in Alaska. [...] He saw the end of the war as a technician for Hispano-Suiza, where he was responsible for the supply of aircraft engines. The citation for these lines does and everything between them does not verify them.
  • Earwig has found copyright issues with the carom billiards section, which seems to have been copied verbatim from here.
    • Considering this is a translation of our French article, it seems high likely this was copied from our article on Faroux.Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:59, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Faroux died in February 1957 in Neuilly-sur-Seine near Paris. The citation here is for an article before his stated death, so naturally it doesn't support this claim.
  • The last section should probably be a table.

Unfortunately, I must fail this. My condolences. An anonymous username, not my real name (talk) 17:17, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
