Instant death or mortally wounded? edit
The article states that Gudin died "on the battlefield". However in the BBC article which appeared after his remains were thought to be found during the summer of 2019, states he died three days after the battle from gangrene resulting of the amputation of his leg... (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-49508521) As the Battle of Valutino took place on 19 August 1812 and his date of death is 22 August, it looks like the article is incorrect and the BBC is correct. I'll change the article in that direction. -- fdewaele, 29 August 2019, 14:26 CET.
