Betty Sutton? edit

It seems a dubious assertion that Betty Sutton is a "Famous Resident" of Chardon. Notable perhaps, but hardly famous. Her listing as such contributes nothing of substance to the article. Seems closer to self-promotion? Her election website states that she was "born and raised in Barberton", and mentions nothing about being a resident of Chardon. --KeithB 20:20, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The fact that I, a lifelong resident of Chardon, have never heard of Betty Sutton should probably carry weight in that matter. DoomsDay349 18:32, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Joe Jurevicius edit

I could be wrong, but I don't believe Joe is from Chardon. I can't find anything on the net at this point to prove either way, but I don't think this is factual. His birthplace is listed as Cleveland, and he went to High School in Mentor (although Lake Catholic students can enroll from just about anywhere). Any chance on someone verifying this info? Pronunciation edit

How is "Chardon" pronounced? Is it /ˈɑːrdən/? You see, some of us look at it and see the French word for "thistle" (French pronunciation: [ʃaʁdɔ̃]). I don't suppose it is pronounced like that, but if the name is of French origin, it might not be /ˈɑːrdən/. So, how do you say it? Kelisi (talk) 21:21, 21 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

This may sound a bit strange, but local accents produce a mixed pronunciation. The first syllable is how the French pronounces it, and the second syllable is how the English pronounce it: /ˈʃɑːrdən/

um... chardon has THREE syllables...DuckDog67 (talk)
