Hanzi for Touji town
editThe characteres for Touji town are beneficial because they allow one to search in Chinese for this place. There is no WP article for Touji so we really do need the hanzi for this toponym. Badagnani 00:39, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Need names of islands
editNeed number and names of islands. Badagnani (talk) 21:28, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- There are eleven large and medium sized islands, and 8 small ones that are named on my map from www.guang.net, which I cannot find the exact site for anymore. The map at http://www.changdao.gov.cn/english/images/167.jpg is not as good, but shows most of the names. There is a close up of the biggest cluster at http://www.lvye.info/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=143645&order=0&viewmode=flat&pid=0&forum=3&PHPSESSID=bmccs6l37celgleat433nnr7b6
and the ferry map at http://www.lotour.com/snapshot/2007-7-24/snapshot_75937.shtml is not bad. --Bejnar (talk) 05:36, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, go ahead and add that to the article. Badagnani (talk) 08:24, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Closed to non-Chinese nationals
editI removed "Westerners found on the island are swiftly taken to the passenger ferry terminal and placed on the next ferry back to Penglai by the islands Police service. Islanders promptly report all "outsiders" to the islands police service. (First hand experience) Police explain the reasons for this, due to the high number of military installations on the Island" as constituting original research and thus violative of official policy. Also, it is not just Westerners, the ban includes Koreans and Japanese, etc. --Bejnar (talk) 05:09, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
