Altitude of Chandrashilla - 4200m? edit

Every travel agency tries to boost up the altitude of Chandrashilla and mentions it to be 4200m. The real height (snowless) is 3682m. Posting this here so that when overzealous editors edit it out, some can still correct it out. The climb is a mere 800m but yes the climb is steep and on a paved path which in my opinion is tougher than on natural mud paths. The one section that has a wee bit of exposure is after Tungnath as one needs to push ahead to the summit. I think trek route to Chandrashila is open throughout the year. Although Tungnath temple is closed, trekkers usually undertake this in winter as well as this is one of the very few treks(like Dodital Trek) possible in the winter months. Will be back with more details soon Frequent.me (talk) 22:17, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes you Right feel free to add the information ,but do mention about increase in arduousness during the winters/snowfall. User:AlokprasadPreceding undated comment added 03:11, 18 November 2009 (UTC).Reply

Chandrashilla peak gets snowfall in winter months and there is plenty of soft snow beyond the Tungnath temple. The summer walk trails may not even exist and one needs to cut steps with the necessity of sidestepping. The whole round trek-able track is incorrect and must highlight snow walking conditions — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prashant maxsteel (talkcontribs) 10:24, 12 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
