Explanation of edits

The content of the page was out of date. It was bothering me. I do work for the college. I didn't realize that I could not do basic cited updates. Not sure how to correct this.

Material violating WP:NPOV was deleted, as was info that would only interest Champlain attendees. Info here is supposed to be unique not boilerplate or pr. See WP:SPAM.

References are currently in a "unique" format. Probably too unique. The editor monitoring this should look at some other articles. See WP:FOOT. Footnotes are usually self-generating requiring no maintenance. Student7 (talk) 19:11, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

WP:BFAQ may also apply. Student7 (talk) 01:51, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
I also like the idea of using footnotes for sources. I'll probably start moving references to footnotes shortly. Additionally, I hope to improve the article as a whole. I'd like to remove a lot of unnecessary stuff: the lists of majors, centers, and presidents. I'm currently working on a re-write of the history section, removing some details and making it more readable. If anyone has criticism of the changes I make, please let me know. The beauty of using references as sources shows up best when new material is added yet the old material is still properly footnoted. Repetitively is fine. I start many new articles using just a few sources but using them multiple times with ref name="aname1".
List of Presidents okay and maybe even desirable, but generally should be the only people mentioned except for notable grads. Explicit mention of dorms is sleep-inducing but some general mention may be useful.
Focusing on curricula differences can be interesting and useful. There is nothing wrong with pinning down briefly, early on, what kind of school this is and going on from there to demonstate differences. The undergrad degree was interesting as was the graduate degree. Student7 (talk) 14:26, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Problematic phrase in lead section

The third sentence of the lead now includes the phrase "and are only offered to non-traditional students". This comes at the end of a list of college offerings, and it is unclear what this description applies to — perhaps the mention of online programs that immediately precedes it? Additionally, "non-traditional" is ambiguous in this context. Does it refer to students who did not receive a high school diploma, students who have suspended education for many years, part-time students, students who do not attend a physical campus, or something else?

Is this qualification necessary in the lead section? I think it would be more appropriate for a better explanation to appear in the section about online programs.

As I cannot determine the editor's intent, I will remove the phrase if it is not resolved shortly. Nightspark (talk) 04:28, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Didn't read your post first before deleting the phrase mentioned. Two great minds! Student7 (talk) 12:43, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Online should be listed in campus

Champlain College has a major online program. It should be listed on its Wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tho97 (talkcontribs) 00:22, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
