There is a slight error in the first lines of the article: in Italy both chambers of parliament have exactly the same role and the same power, so it's not correct to say that the "camera dei deputati" is the lower one

Because of historical reasons, in Italy the Chamber of Deputies is commonly considered the lower house of Parliament, so that the President of Chamber of Deputies (called "the third office of the State") is less important than the President of Senate (called "the second office of the State"). Also, Italian Senate of the Republic was created to be something like a "guarantee-oriented" house, and that function is more allied to an upper house than to a lower house.

For this, I think that the article should be modified in order to say that Italian Parliament chambers have the same function, but people consider the Chamber of Deputies as the lower house. --80.104.178.112 21:05, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I actually don't understand why there are a lot of changes with these numbers in pages like Next Italian general election and others. About the new historical composition graph

@Leo0502: First of all, thanks for your hard work. I have at least one modification I would ask you: could you re-order the bars in such a way that they sort-of go from political left to political right? I don't understand currently what is the criterion by which they are ordered. If you do not like the left-right ordering, then we should go with another criterion (for example, most seats to least seats – except the "Others"), but a criterion should be used to order them. The order is:

* nation-wide parties

** ordered based on first appearance, then number of seats in first appearance (that's why PSI is before PCI although it usually had less seats)

* regional/minorities parties

** same as nation-wide

* others

* independent

Few exceptions are successors: PCI, PDS and DS treated as the same party, parties created after dissolution of Christian Democracy, PD which is merger of Daisy (and Christian Democracy in some way) and DS. Regarding political left-right I'm not familiar enough with Italian politics and its 40+ parties and not sure I'll order them correctly. Needed Clarity

Regarding "multi-seat" constituencies vs. national election. Are the proportional/party list seats (63%) allocated on a national at-large basis or according to bounded constituencies of some kind? It's not clear what a "multi-seat constituency" is. Venqax (talk) 13:23, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
