i beg to differ and will have to avail myself of the reference used here, but do check young and brisbane's dictionary of nautical terms p81... but I dare you do find another reference to 'chains' as a platform made just for swinging the lead. ViniTheHat (talk) 05:53, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
