Fair use rationale for Image:Chain reaction ver1.jpg edit

Image:Chain reaction ver1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Clean Up edit

Firstly, the plot summary needs major work. It needs to summarize the plot not go into so much detail. Next, is there a template available for what movie pages should look like? I'm quite crap at producing things from scratch but, good at converting things if I have a format set out already. Jasynnash2 (talk) 13:14, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I made some pretty major edits to the plot, infobox and production sections, and i added a few new links, categories, and sections too. It is by no means perfect, but I feel it is at least good enough to warrant removal of the needs wikifying tag. If you feel differently, put it back and we can work on it some more on this page. :) UltimateDogg (talk) 06:07, 22 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Made changes to make the continuity of the description of the plot more fluid.Like for example when talking about the characters Paul Shannon, Lyman Collier and Yusef Ree. Some sentences referred to the character as "Mr. Shannon" or "Paul" or "Lyman Earl Collier" or "Lyman". So, after initial introduction of each character, to be fluid, one name should be sticked to as to not possibly confuse a read of the article going back and forth within the name.

Added/Included Doctor title to Lu Chen character enteries edit

Since in the movie he is described and talked to as "doctor", he should have the doctor title in his name, as with characters Dr. Barkley & Dr. Sinclair.

Bubble Fusion or "Hydrogen Burning"? edit

The summary refers to "bubble fusion," but I do not recall that being explicitly stated in the movie. Instead there were numerous references to "hydrogen burning," and not in the sense of nuclear fusion. Can someone verify what terms were actually stated in the film? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.8.70.178 (talk) 00:56, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Those involved either had no fixed idea what they were on about, no clue what they were on about, or the movie production got caught up in some kind of real life eminent domain fiasco of its own by getting too close to the truth of some real secret discovery. It's probably one of the former, but I can't rule out the latter due to its extremely bizarre, seemingly intentional mish mash of ideas. 65.186.61.58 (talk) 20:19, 8 November 2017 (UTC) -ReticuliReply

Gus Grissom ref? edit

About 35 minutes in, Morgan Freeman's character is testifying before Congress and mentions the astronauts killed during the U.S. space program. The camera cuts to Fred Ward's character, who is watching the testimony. Ward played Gus Grissom, an astronaut killed in an explosion in one of the early Apollo missions, 13 years earlier, in The Right Stuff. There really isn't any other reason for the camera to switch to Ward at that moment. I'm wondering if this was a nod by the filmmakers to that earlier film. I can't find any source discussing this. Is it worth including in the article? Is there a source anywhere that addresses this? Lafong (talk) 20:55, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Chain Reaction - definition edit

To clarify, a chain reaction is NOT limited to nuclear fission. It is any reaction that instigates more reactions, generally a self-sustaining reaction. Nuclear fission is a chain reaction, but so is nuclear fusion in the sun. So is a campfire. The source cited for "chain reaction" being used in nuclear fission is broken, and more importantly, incorrect. 209.128.220.126 (talk) 07:04, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
