What a funny critter! I hate to be a nitpick, but is there any reference for the common names you've given this thing ("pigbutt worm" and "flying buttocks")? It sounds like an unpublished synthesis of published material to me. I think the article should be moved to Chaetopterus pugaporcinus. -Madeleine 20:56, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've corresponded with the author of the paper over and her images were prefixed with "pigbutt." Since "pig but" is a translation of the latin name, I think that's probably a reasonable way to refer to it. "Flying Buttocks" was taken from a photograph book on deep sea creatures before the species officially name. I do not know if it has been used elsewhere. I wouldn't oppose to renaming the article and leaving "pigbutt worm" as a redirect. —mako (talk•contribs) 22:25, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Both names are known and accepted common names for this creature, but maybe for the genus, maybe for this species. I will see if I can find some references. --69.225.9.98 (talk) 07:04, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
