This page was created to place the material that is common to the existing epitrochoid and hypotrochoid pages, and to allow for additional material to be added without having it duplicated. This is part of a larger project to organize the pages for related curves according to the following plan:

Epitrochoid
Epicycloid
Hypotrochoid
Hypocycloid
Rose (mathematics)

Cycloid
Centered cycloid

(See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Mathematics/Archive_38.) More work needs to be done to move material as appropriate and create links between this page and existing pages; this is coming.
