Story About CENTENNIAL Saving a Bar Patron's Life edit
Is there any truth to the story that Centennial saved a bar patron's life? I heard this in junior high (1977-1978). A man held up a bar at gunpoint, and once he had robbed the register, he left the bar, shooting wildly. One patron pitched off his barstool onto the floor, certain he'd been shot. The squad came and took him to the hospital, and when they were undressing him, found that the bullet had gone through the paperback Centennial in his back pocket. The book was thick enough to slow down the bullet and prevent an injury.
Is this documented anywhere? 45750born (talk) 16:28, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
