I happy to review this interesting article. I'll send comments section by section, and where there are minor copy editing issues I will do them myself—please revert them if you wish. It will take a few days to check the article through before I start producing comments.

Images and captions

These are all copyright free.

  • In the captions, link: Geomorphology; Dinaric Alps; Levant sparrowhawk;
  • Link Tuzi in the captions.
  • include the name of the species of the sparrowhawk—Accipiter brevipes.
  • the images in the gallery look small, consider amending them by replacing the text with <gallery mode=packed heights=150px style="text-align:center"> File:Settlement_Patterns_Cem_Gorge.jpg|The Cijevna above the Montenegrin-Albanian border File:Cemi_i_Nik%C3%A7it.jpg|Dried out riverbed of ''Cem i Vuklit'' File:Tamara_01.JPG|Tamara Gorge, Albania </gallery>
  • The middle gallery image is of the river in Albania, the country should be included, I think.
  • The infobox image is interesting, but confusing, as it's hard to understand the size of the canyon. Consider replacing it with another image, such as [[File:Tamara 01.JPG]]

Further comments edit

  • @Maleschreiber: This is a very interesting and detailed article, but as the article stands, it cannot be said to be well written, because the grammar is not correct. Unresolved, this will cause the article to fail, and if there is a lot of correcting to do, I cannot copy edit the article with you and review it at the same time. Perhaps the best way forward is to address any other issues, and flag the article to be copy edited by someone else. What do you think?
  • I would amend ...a polje... to ‘...a vast flat plain known as a polje…’, as the term will be unfamiliar to many readers.
  • References 1-10 have been checked with the text, no problems found. Amitchell125 (talk) 07:32, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Polje is a geological term, but if you think that it needs to become simpler, it can be changed to karst field.
I would do that. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:10, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • I'll do the copyediting. If you need the full quote of any source, ping me.--Maleschreiber (talk) 11:59, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've gone through every section for grammar issues. Also, [1] this isn't a grammar mistake. I used historical present instead of simple past.--Maleschreiber (talk) 20:26, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I appreciate the work you've done. 'The Greek geographer Ptolemy...' is not a grammatical mistake, you're quite right, it just explains who the person was. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:24, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Amitchell125: I will expand the lead after source verification is completed.--Maleschreiber (talk) 19:05, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • The maximal discharge rate of the river has been observed in May at 416 m3/s, - should be 41.6 (Mrdak & Hadžiablahović, p. 19). Amitchell125 (talk) 08:10, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • In Albania, 130 bird species in total have been identified in Cem and its tributaries. - I could see how Ref 20 (Centre for Protection and Research of Birds) or Ref 21 (Méndez & Donázar) verified this. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:28, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Ref 22 (balkanrivers.net) doesn't appear to mention 22 species. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:31, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • The tumulus of Rakića Kuće... - does it matter that Ref 36 (Bugaj) says "...the tumulus at Kuća Rakića..."? Amitchell125 (talk) 08:56, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Maleschreiber: The source verification is now completed, and only the above comments need to be addressed. Amitchell125 (talk) 09:59, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

In Albania, 130 bird species in total have been identified in Cem and its tributaries. and the total number of species of fish are mentioned in Marojević (2014)p.11: Fauna në këtë regjion është e pasur. Whether we use of or at Rakića Kuće doesn't change its meaning, because a tumulus (basically, a large burial mound) has a fixed location, so it can't be found somewhere else other than in its place of origin.
Great, I'll address these issues and expand the lead.   Done--Maleschreiber (talk) 20:38, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Copy editing edit

@Maleschreiber: I've put suggestions for improving the English here. I'll add further comments in the near future. Regards, Amitchell125 (talk) 09:54, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • You need to check all your values are converted (including those for rainfall, e.g. 361 mm). Abbreviations are needed. Amitchell125 (talk) 13:54, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

On hold edit

I'm placing the article on hold for a week until 16 October to give time for you to finish address the remaining issues. Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries. Regards, Amitchell125 (talk) 18:52, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the meticulous review! I will address them in the next couple of days. Does the lead need another expansion?--Maleschreiber (talk) 23:51, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it does, just to make sure the main text is properly summarised. Thanks, Amitchell125 (talk) 06:46, 9 October 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.27.201.195 (talk) Reply
I've expanded the lead and addressed c/e. I haven't used some of the c/e suggestions because c/e had already taken place by another editor and in some parts I made some changes which are a bit different.--Maleschreiber (talk) 23:03, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Passing edit

I have great pleasure in passing your article. I've added a map, which can be altered or improved in any way if you wish me to. Thanks for all your work! Amitchell125 (talk) 12:22, 10 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
