My understanding is that Daniel O'Connell ("The Liberator") could have coined this term - but it is difficult to get a source. Prob better for a Queen's University of Ireland article. Djegan 19:03, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

Funding 1850-1860

About £200,000 was raised in the 1850s, mostly from Catholic businessmen in Dublin, but most of the fund was then used up in 1860 to pay for equipping Myles O'Reilly's force that tried to defend the Papal States against Garibaldi.78.16.50.43 (talk) 09:15, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
