Opening Titles

Not enough info about the opening titles sequence, apparently created by Shoreditch Animation, the London office of Nexus Productions. Also the external link no longer has the video/content in its archives, it should be replaced LaVieEntiere 02:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

As far as I can see, the title sequence is no more "unique" than any other title sequence, so I deleted that word. It's not original either, if that is what was meant; it's a blatant ripoff of the Pink Panther opening credits.--Shantavira|^{feed me} 10:07, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Grotesque France

I'm not surprised to see that the arrest sentence was entirely bogus... It just seemed unrealistic, and did not fit with the procedures, as far as I know. David.Monniaux 22:23, 20 Aug 2004 (UTC)

It is worth noting though that Frank got very sick there. Also prison conditions were much worse in the late 60s and early 70s than they are today. Jon 16:51, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Frank's Mother's Affair

In the movie, it seems that Frank's mother has an affair with the President of the Rotary Club in New Rochelle, not the bank manager from Chase Manhattan Bank. If you look at the two scenes, (Frank Sr. applying for the loan, and Frank Jr. realizing his Mother is having an affair) the president and bank manager are two different people. Stepsister or Half-Sister?

Surely the little girl at Frank's mother's place, as the child of his mother and a different father, would be Frank's Half-Sister, not Stepsister as given in the plot summary?

Differences?

Perhaps someone who knows could add the particular ways in which the movie differs from the real life events. Every movie is fictionalized in some respect, so just to say that it differs is a pretty meaningless statement. Gamaliel 19:50, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Nice work. I did remove the section about the call girl though, as that incident does appear in the movie. (She's played by Jennifer Garner.) And the movie does show him with women other than Brenda (I think that's the name of that nurse) but perhaps not as many as in real life. Gamaliel 19:29, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Remake

It's not a remake. After a quick trip to http//www.allmovie.com, I created the "other films with the same title" section. This should clear up any confusion. Cast List

Is it really necessary to include the ENTIRE cast? One can get that info on IMDB. I ask because many on the cast are non notables yet are linked to would be article under their name. --Dysepsion 05:55, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

If I remember the book correctly, he wasn't arrested by just two policemen, he went to a grocery store and was jumped by what he described as a small army of overexcited and triggerhappy French police. Did he make that up to? I ask because the comparison section seems to clash with the claims in the book; if Abagnale cooked that part up in his book,(it seemed unrealistic anyway) I think it deserves a mention.

Deleted "Simpsons" reference in introduction

Is there some kind of unwritten rule on Wikipedia that there has to be a reference to "The Simpsons" on every single article? This article is about the film "Catch Me If You Can", not "The Simpsons". The sentence that I deleted makes it seem that the movie was famous because it was parodied on "The Simpsons". Obviously, this is not the case. --Fightingirish 16:21, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Contridiction

In reality, he was arrested while grocery shopping by three gendarmes, and he was quickly identified after he tried to talk his way out of the situation.

Abagnale in real life was captured in a grocery store in Montpellier, where he had gone to ground, by two uniformed police officers.

$4 million = $20?

The "$20 now" statement sounded like bullshit when I read it, and, indeed, it is. According to the "inflation calendar, $4 million is $654,876.43. Looking at the revision history, this dude (24.226.10.98) did it, and changed to $ million from 2,5. I can't remember from the movie how much he stole. so I will chuck the $20 statement only. I think that by "$4 million (worth about $20 million now)," the author meant that $4 million went a lot further in the 1960s and stealing that amount would be the equivalent of stealing $20 million in the early 2000s, not that money appreciates despite inflation.Scrynne 17:39, 8 January 2007 (UTC)scrynne
