Ottoman-German Alliance edit

It is debatable whether it was Ottoman Empire or Germany that attacked Russia. The battleships were nominally Ottoman vessels, but their crews were German, and the motives of the attack are at best hazy.--Eleman (talk) 08:27, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Based on the above, I've removed the following text for now:

I think it would be worth reinclusion if Eleman's point can be referenced, since it illustrates an example when casus foederis isn't so clear-cut. — Sasuke Sarutobi (talk) 11:30, 31 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm away from home for a month or two, so I can't find proper references atm. Check out SMS_Goeben#Black_Sea_operations for some details, though that page isn't particularly rich on references. I'll try to find some references when I'm back.--Eleman (talk) 04:46, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
