I think it would be neat to put up one of the pictures from http://www.generalsandbrevets.com/ss/ss2.htm. I can't find any copyright info on the site- should I go ahead, as Wikipedia lists the site as a public domain site, or err on the side of caution?

Unless a copyright is specifically mentioned as being in the public domain, err on the side of caution. That being said, there may be photos of Stevenson that exist in the public domain (Library of Congress, for example) that you can find. Most photos in the LoC collection (including on-line) are in the public domain and are stated as such on the LoC website. Scott Mingus 16:57, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. By the way, what is the status of generalsandbrevets.com? I couldn't find any copyright information on the site, but Wikipedia reccomends using it. Do editors e-mail the guy specific copyright questions, or something like that? Stilgar135 22:11, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Parole edit

If he was paroled after Vicksburg, and then accepted command of Confederates elsewhere, the presumably he broke his parole. If so, this ought to be stated. 81.129.150.35 (talk) 00:02, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
