Proposed Merge

edit

Since the other carrier preselect page has almost no content that is not already present in this article, I am proposing merging it into this one. This article can then be expanded. Disphenoidal (talk) 21:57, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I disagree as the two pages describe two different things. Carrier Pre-select is where a telephone exchange is setup to route one consumers phone calls via an alternative network. The Carrier pre-selection talks of using least cost routing for a PBX which are mainly used in large businesses. Carrier pre-select doesn't use least-cost routing as all the comsumers calls are routed via one network provider regardless of the number dialled. Dasx199 (talk) 11:53, 7 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

These should be merged. Carrier preselection removed the need for both PBX users and consumers to dial prefix numbers to route the call. The reason for using CPS, either for LCR or consumer preference, should be discussed in the article Junkmanuk (talk) 15:56, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
