- The Gold Coast City Council provides simple information about Carrara here including book references to its Aboriginal name.
- The book "The Gold Coast Book: An illustrated history" may include some information about Carrara. See link for book.
- The book "Illustrated history of the Gold Coast" may include some information about Carrara. See link for book; available at universities.
- The book "The Surfers Paradise Story" may include some information about Carrara. See for book; available at libraries and universities.
- There are many other books here, here and here.

- The Surfers Paradise International Raceway was located in Carrara; now the site of Emerald Lakes. There are photos.
- The Pleasure Island Amusement Park operated from 1959-1962 in Carrara (I think). It had trains. There are photos. And here is a YouTube video.
- Keith William's Ski Gardens operated in Carrara (I think). There are photos. The "main" show of (water) skiiers, moved to the spit to an amusement park that was the precursor for Sea World.
- There was a Carrara Airstrip in 1999. See link.
- The original South Coast railway went through Carrara. See link for book.
- The current Gold Coast railway goes through Carrara; there is a bridge constructed.
- There was Carrara State School from atleast 1916 until 1929, then I think maybe two private schools, then now-Emmanuel College?
- The Big Day Out festival was held in Carrara Stadiums in 2014 only. Before that it was at Parklands. After that it was cancelled. See here.
- The Emerald Lakes website calls itself/Carrara the "geographical centre of the Gold Coast". I could calculated it but it'll need to be calculated in an external source to be stated on this article. Cannot find source. Maybe this could help.
