"Evil duke ... identified by historians" edit
The only rulers named Guido III that Wikipedia knows are Guido III, Lord of Ravenna in the 14th century, and Guy III, Duke of Spoleto in the 9th century. Ravenna and Spoleto were both papal fiefs on the east coast, too far away to plausibly be rulers of Ivrea. More likely, in the 12th century, is the Duchy of Savoy, but the Duke of Savoy in 1194 was Thomas I. If the origin is a revolt against the local ruler, it's unlikely to be a duke.
