Motion to remove the tag edit

After the article was tagged few editors improved grammar and spelling. May the tag be removed now?--Mbz1 (talk) 15:26, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lenin and the bears edit

It might not be a bad idea to remove the sentence "Maybe that is the reason the carnival begins with a symbolic liberation of the bear" if there isn't a source to back it up. Also using the words "legend" about an event in 1917 is a bit tricky because there are so many very old Berneser legends. If anyone needs to have a source translated ping me - I can read German and Swiss-German. I've done a copy-edit and removed the tag. Btw, stumbled across the article at DYK. Thank you very much for your work. I took the story about lenin from here. Google translated it to "legend", but,if you believe it should be removed, please do. After all there are so many stories and legends about allegorical Bern's Bear. Hans von Rüte used the idea in his plays too. BTW I asked a German speaking person to help me with incorporating German sources, which were mentioned in DYK into the article. The editor promised to help during weekend, but I feel he's busy. If you know German, and have a time, maybe you will be interested to do some more work on the article? BTW I will add you to my DYK nomination no matter what.--Mbz1 (talk) 16:53, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Btw - I also read French - and you're correct, the source does use the word legend (in French and appropriately translated), so that's probably fine (although it might be better reworded with the word "story" to avoid close paraphrasing). Thanks for offering, but no need to add me to the DYK. And, yes I can read sources for you if you need. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 17:01, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I meant not to read sources for me, but rather edit article, and to add more data to it using the German sources because, if you are to read them to me, and I will edit the article myself, somebody would have to fix my English once again :)--Mbz1 (talk) 17:09, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, of course, I can do that. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 17:18, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
It will be great! Thank you very much!--Mbz1 (talk) 17:19, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you put the sources here on the talkpage I'll have a look at them. Expanding this will take a little work because the tradition of carnival is so old, but it's an article worth having here. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 17:30, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
There's actually quite a lot of information to be found in the books. It would be helpful to have the ISBNs for the books. Could you add them to the templates so I don't have to find comb through the internet. Thanks. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 19:15, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for adding the ISBNs. That will be very helpful. Don't worry, I'll be back here if no one minds. I find this to be a very interesting topic. Thanks. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 01:16, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

the German sources edit

Here are the sources that were suggested by Sandstein: de:Berner Fasnacht ; this article from a Bernese historical journal, Berner Zeitschrift für Geschichte und Heimatkunde and [1]. Please take your time, and thank you.--Mbz1 (talk) 18:03, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
