POV
editI'm new to Wikipedia, but I know Carlos Petroni, and, knowing his personality, he obviously wrote this himself to make himself look good. He isn't important, or least not as important as other people in the left that should be added to wikipedia before him. I think the article should be deleted. But, I don't know, I'm new to Wikipedia and you people should decide.
added POV tag
editI've added a POV neutrality tag at your request while cleaning up this article. JubalHarshaw 14:20, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't agree. Carlos wrote me and told me he was actually disappointed with the entry.
The article is factual from my own experience with Petroni. There ARE links to and from it. If anything the article makes Petroni look boring considering all the stuff about him that I know in terms of his experiences, in Cuba, in Nicaragua, etc. Keep the entry.

Petroni deserves an entry given the beadth of his experiences in the Latin American Left. If readers feel this is a puff piece, they're free to suggest edits. I may be wrong, but as Nahuel Moreno is deceased it seems that Petroni is the last major spokesman for this Trotskyist tendency. Why should he be considered "less important" than, say, Deval Patrick, the recently elected Governor of Massachusetts and former Chief lawyer for Coke, Texaco and Ameriquest who has a glowing Wiki entry?

I agree with the last two comments. The guy deserves an entry. He is well known and I should point to the fact that verifiable links are included in the entry. On the other hand the complainer above does not offer more than his/her own opinion, valid as it may be as an opinion, clashes with facts. Keep the entry. Alberto
Feedback
edit- I have no idea how old most of these comments are (possibly all from 2006) and they are all unsigned and in my opinion vandalism. I see no evidence this was written by the subject or is a COI. His notability is clear. Even underplayed... haha IMO. Hesperian Nguyen (talk) 00:20, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
refimprove
editI've tagged the article because, although a lot of references are given, the majority are BY the person the article is about and might therefore be classed as WP:COI. I'm not passing an opinion on it, just tagging it for reference. CultureDrone (talk) 14:08, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
