Challenging prod edit

A quick check (see above) reveals coverage of this ensemble in numerous publications, including the New York Times, the Washington Post and the San Francisco Examiner. According to the New York Times: "Cappella Romana have garnered critical acclaim for their concerts and recordings." A quote from a book published by the Oxford University Press says: "Cappella Romana...who have made a hugely important contribution to the discography of medieval Byzantine chant with the set Byzantium in Rome..." The group premiered a work written especially for them by notable British composer Ivan Moody. Also since this is not a WP:BAND, it would be better to apply the criteria of WP:MUSIC#Others:

"For composers and performers outside mass media traditions:

  1. Is cited in reliable sources as being influential in style, technique, repertory or teaching in a particular music genre.
  2. Has been a significant musical influence on a musician or composer that qualifies for the above list.
  3. Has established a tradition or school in a particular genre.
  4. Has composed a number of melodies, tunes or standards used in a notable genre, or tradition or school within a notable genre.
  5. Is frequently covered in publications devoted to a notable sub-culture."

The article definitely needs expansion and citations, but lack of citations is not a criterion for deletion. Katr67 (talk) 01:54, 17 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
