Nominator could not propose a suitably satisfactory hook.

  • This camera has a few different things to highlight, ALT4 is looking most appealing after having nominated this... ~riley (talk) 18:56, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • I'd like to see us find something more interesting than least expensive, more affordable, lightest, smallest. What is interesting about this product, other than to anyone shopping for a new camera? What about this camera would a general audience find interesting? --valereee (talk) 02:58, 14 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • @Valereee: I'm a pretty straight shooter, so please take this in the right way.. People read what is interesting to them, a generalizing approach doesn't work well with technical topics. For example, the lead DYK on the front page right now is about the "largest collection of fire truck bells". Personally, I don't find this interesting - but someone does and thats why we have several DYKs on the front page, not just one. I have about 5 camera DYKs and haven't tried to appeal to the general audience for any of them. I do hear what you're saying though and thats why I am thinking ALT4 is the best out of the above proposed. I think least expensive is interesting because everyone knows that technology is getting more expensive. We are in a society where the price of everything is getting higher. Think about phones (don't get me started on the price of iPhones), laptops, etc are all creeping up in price - to hear a manufacturer actually aimed to make the cheapest of something on the market is in fact interesting. ~riley (talk) 04:04, 14 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'm very sorry, but all of the above hooks sound somewhat promotional, and while we know that this is not intentional, there is a concern that readers may find them so. I've taken a look at the article and I've also noticed that the article reads similarly. Perhaps more information could be found that isn't just descriptions of how the camera works or its specifications? Perhaps articles on its development and reception, if they exist? @Narutolovehinata5: Any recommendations for reducing the promotional sounds of the above hooks? I have striken ALT0 and ALT3 as I agree they are on the more promotional side. I have taken a second look and agree that the article was primarily highlighting it's features and did not include the flipside, thanks for pointing this out. I have made some revisions (comparison), including adding a reception section with mixed reviews. I think this significantly helps balance the article. I think a development section is a good idea, however, this information appears inadequately covered/sourced - I will continue to research but preliminary results do not look good on that front. ~riley (talk) 07:29, 14 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Riley, I agree that everyone has different interests, but the features of a camera, unless groundbreaking in some way, aren't of interest to 99% of those who aren't currently looking to buy a camera. There's just nothing interesting about tech prices dropping: other things being equal, tech prices always drop. You can buy a prepaid burner at Target for like $30. What you can't get is all the bells-and-whistles of the expensive new items. There's nothing inherently interesting about a tech item being smaller that before: other things being equal, tech always gets smaller, lighter, whatever. If you tell me it's half the size of any camera ever made, that's maybe interesting. But not just that it's the smallest. Because next week we'll have another smallest camera ever made, and it'll probably be the cheapest, too. And of course manufacturers want to be able to price theirs cheaper, if they can -- that's a selling point of interest to anyone who is looking to buy a new camera. --valereee (talk) 12:28, 14 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

I think, this Artikel need a better image, if it is used for Did you know. --GodeNehler (talk) 22:30, 21 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Due to concerns about the above hooks, a new non-promotional hook may need to be proposed here. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:58, 25 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
It should also be noted that, regardless of the concerns about finding an acceptable hook, several paragraphs in the article currently lack a reference. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:08, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • @~riley: This nomination has been ongoing for a month now, and little progress has been made on the hook and sourcing issues. Will you be able to address these concerns soon? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:45, 14 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  •  Request withdrawn Unable to find a hook that is satisfactory. ~riley (talk) 18:46, 14 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Photos edit

If someone has a Canon RP and could take a nice lightbox photo of it (similar to many other photos available for other models) that would be great! Also, if someone could take a decent shot of the EF/RF mount adapter, that would also be useful. Thanks! Turini2 (talk) 10:33, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

I changed the photo from the one before as it was wearing a EF 50mm - not really the best way to show off the camera! Turini2 (talk) 10:37, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
