Leave it as it is- this is the most common designation for the aircraft even in the Forces. I would be amazed if anyone referred to the aircraft as anything other than "T-33." As for CT-133 Silver Star, that sounds like the official nomenclature and likely not to be used. If this is any indication, the Alberta Aviation Museum, Canadian War Museum, Canada Aviation Museum and Western Canada Aviation Museum all refer to the type as the "Canadair T-33." Most if not all of these museums have an example on display. Bzuk 23:00, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I do not think the requested change makes sense as all other Canadair aircrafts are listed by the manufacturer's common denomination. I believe the plane was also flown by other air forces than the RCAF, hence using a country-specific denomination may not be the right thing. As this is not my specialisation, I will not cast a "vote". Oops, I made a couple of mistakes here. First, I assumed the move to the new name would be uncontroversial, so that's where I listed it on the Move page, and why I didn't place a Move section here myself. Second, I didn't place this article in my watch list, so I have been unaware of it being contested. Had I known, I would have moved it to the proper section on the Move page. Apparently, the admin who moved the page did not check this discussion page either, as they usually highlight and archive the move discussions. If someone wants to restart the move process to move it back to Canadair T-33, go ahead. I probably won't support the move, but if you can establish a consensus to move it back, I'll be satisfied with that.

Incidently, the CF-5 page is entitled the CF-116 Freedom Fighter. That's its official designation, but I doubt it was used much either. - BillCJ 23:55, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Display aircraft
