This article can be improved in two major ways.

  • There should be more clear distinctions between the features and specifications of the Canadian and Malaysian variants. The specifications section appears to list Malaysian specifications only. (I have added the thrust information for the Canadian variant.)
  • Citing references. Most of the information in the article appears to me to be more-or-less correct (from memory), although I'm unsure about the specifications for the Malaysian version. But it would be appropriate to cite references.

Perhaps a good way to present the specifications for the two variants would be a three-column table.

The range quoted is far greater than the range of the Canadian variant. Perhaps it applies to the Malaysian variant with wing tanks?

I have added specifications for the CT-114 from the DND web site.

Removal of other site

Anyone know how to get rid of the CT-114 site? Bzuk 07:21 5 March 2007 (UTC).

Snow Bird Aircraft

This article makes referance to "10 production snowbirds" This is not quite right. A Snowbird aircraft was created by modifiying a standard CT114 with an improved avionics package (radios for US travel), a smoke system and a "cross cockpit" modification (which allowed the aircraft to be flown from the right hand seat) along with the snowbird paint. After a Snowbird was retired these modifications were removed and the aircraft returned to the training fleet. Over the years many Snow birds were created and retired.

Good point - the wording was misleading, including the claimed existence of a special "aerobatic version". I have reworded it. - Ahunt (talk) 20:23, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Vertical stab position

"If the fin is too far forward, spin can not be initiated, but if it is too far aft, recovery becomes impossible."

At first glance this seems to be the opposite of what I would expect. Generally speaking, moving the vertical rearward increases directional stability (due to a longer moment arm) which would seem to make spins more difficult. Anyone have an explanation for this? Or is it just reversed?

Fair use rationale for Image:Cl41.jpg

Image:Cl41.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:Golden Centennaires.jpg

The image Image:Golden Centennaires.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

I agree - it would then conform to the standard. - Ahunt (talk) 20:57, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
