CAN-AVID, EASTERN SAMAR oh, my beloved Can-avid,my home, my growing up memoirs... my beloved hometown! how I missed so much living in a simple and quite place. I missed the citrus scent around our humble home, the sounds of the early birds at dawntime, the chirping of all the ground animals including our piggy,piggy baboy for fiesta. wow! i missed my beloved Nanay's bedtime stories of what we call now fairy tales.

My beloved CAN-AVID

all i want to bring back are those happy memories of my childhood, climbing those guava trees in our backyard, trying to pick some ripe orange fruits from our two orange trees just infront of our old, simple but happy home. i love to eat tisa, bananas the long one in yellow green and of course the sweet golden yellow. we have cashew tree, mango tree, a pomelo tree, chinese lemon trees name it we have it in our backyard.

oh.. i missed the church bells during angelus time at 6 in the evening, 12 at noon time and of course a short pause to pray for the souls when the church bells at 8:00pm. i missed praying the rosary with nanay with those matching "ora pro nobis" pray for us (litany) and novenas.  back home we could hear the sermon of our parish priest during sunday mass. we could actually hear the mass without going to church but nanay would always encourage us to go to church at least during sundays while she would love attending the daily masses until her ailing days.

my elementary years were superb! how can i ever forget those memories being the first president of the pupils government of can-avid central elementary school? there i learned that being poor does not hinder me to lead my fellow pupils. every time i have to see the principal to represent the pupils populace was a nerve wrecking experience., talking to her in pure simple english and listening from her was like a hell and heaven for me. but inspite of everything everything pays off... i graduated with the highest honors... and i am proud i made it even if i am an orphan. what a typical life i wish to have back! my years backhome are incomparable, stress free and a real NO c o m p l i c a t i o n how's my beloved CAN-AVID now? i hope, i pray our government officials are doing their best in making my Can-avid the best!
