edit

As per discussion at Talk:List of Sydney suburbs, I have created a separate page for Camden Council, the Local Government Area. -- Ianblair23 05:53, 30 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Can people who know or care about this LGA please have a look at this message and see if they can please help solve any redlinks in the "suburbs in this LGA" section of this page? -- All the best, Nickj (t) 08:33, 28 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Controversies

edit

We need a discussion of the Islamic school issue so this article is more balanced! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.148.134.117 (talk) 06:05, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is definitely notable enough to be included. however it needs to be addressed practically in NPOV manner that accurately describes the issue. It should not be used as a coathanger to put general concerns about muslims in Australia and their treatment.--ZayZayEM (talk) 07:15, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

We need to have a look at the Aboriginal history part - some of it appears to be written in a NPOV manner (ie "massacre") and the external reference does not mention this.Blacklord (talk) 09:10, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Demographics

edit

Removed from article:

In Australia 125,000 people speak Arabic at home (Census 2006)[2] and of these people 42% were born in Australia! 340,000 Australians practice Islam. The majority of Muslim people originate from Lebanon or Turkey with significant numbers from Malaysia or Indonesia as well. In the greater metropolitan area of Sydney 96,617 people identified as practicing Islam in Census 2006.

Nice statistics, however they are not being put into context of this issue. Has someone used these statistics in context of the Camden proposal. Wikipedia should only include material directly pertinent to understanding this event/issue.

We cannot use independent statistics to prove points, even if logical or reasonable. This is synthesis. And violates guidelines on original research.--ZayZayEM (talk) 07:15, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Footnotes

edit

The article at present contains links to 20 footnotes, none of which actually exist! I think something has gone awry somewhere. Ordinary Person (talk) 00:36, 9 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Heritage

edit

I have added the current National and NSW State Heritage places. (as at 6 July 2019)--Fj42 (talk) 09:27, 6 July 2019 (UTC) On 16 July 2019 the Australian Heritage Council advised 'based on the information in the nomination, the St John's Anglican Church Precinct may not meet any of the National Heritage Criteria'. The article was adjusted accordingly. --Fj42 (talk) 05:21, 24 July 2019 (UTC) I have undone some changes to the section I create in Heritage, I think it is better to reflect the actual structure of the NSW State Heritage Register and not combine listings. Camden Park House and Garden is now distinct and separate from Camden Park Estate and Belgenny Farm. They are owned and operated separately. The correct name of the listed place is St Johns Anglican Church Precinct (no apostrophe). St John's the Evangelist Anglican Church is not the same as the St Johns Anglican Church Precinct. St John's the Evangelist Anglican Church is one of the buildings contained in the the St Johns Anglican Church Precinct. The whole precinct is listed on the NSW SHR, this is important, the Anglican Church opposed the listing of the whole precinct against the wished of the local community.Fj42 (talk) 09:41, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
