Calgary category edit

I added links to the branch locations and information on the new website because it's so beautiful. I also added basic information about Programs & Events in case someone comes here for info instead of the website. --Katie.edwards (talk) 21:55, 12 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I changed Calgary to Calgary, Alberta because under Edmonton Public Library, Edmonton appears as Edmonton, Alberta. I was just trying to establish some consistency.Anita 02:57, 26 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's an inconsistency between the naming of the two categories - Category:Calgary and Category:Edmonton, Alberta. If you would like to see them made consistent, you can make a recommendation on the talk pages of those categories. Personally, the city name without the province seems more consistent with other categories I've seen - so I'd be inclined to have the Edmonton, Alberta category name shortened to just Edmonton (since there aren't any name conflicts). —GrantNeufeld 19:11, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks GN, good point. I'm still a newbie so I'm still fumbling my way around. Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. Anita 03:00, 26 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I didn't see it as rude at all. Please continue to "Be bold!" —GrantNeufeld 19:44, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Suggested reorganization edit

The article currently describes the buildings, kicking off with what is now the Memorial Library. It would be better, I would suggest, to open the article with a discription of the library today, and this must include all 18 of them. All of them, collectively, constitute the Calgary Public Library. The current introduction would then be placed under a "History" sub-section. What do people think? Preservation challenge edit

I added a {{Failed verification}} to one of the <ref>s because the cited reference does not support the claims made. Specifically, the article states:

The building ... was ... built out of local Paskapoo sandstone (a soft stone that today presents a substantial preservation challenge).

The web page cited, from the Natural Resources Canada website, describes how and why many buildings in Calgary were built with Paskapoo Sandstone, but does not state that the Memorial Library was, nor that this material presents a substantial preservation challenge. We need a better reference here. Alternatively, we could argue that this statement is not controversial, and so does not require a reference at all. HairyWombat (talk) 17:36, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Later. As the statement is not controversial, I moved the <ref> and {{Failed verification}} here:
