Talk:Calatrava la Vieja

Latest comment: 12 years ago by Daveelescorial

I made a slight change to the statement that Calatrava (not yet "la vieja") was "the farthest Christian outpost" in that Calatrava was not the furthest Christian outpost until 1157 as Alfonso VII, with much Genoese assistance, took the coastal city of Almería in the same year Calatrava was captured (1147) and it was held by the Christians until the Almohads re-took the city in 1157. Also, the Knights of Calatra siezed and held the castle of Salvatierra from 1198-1211, after the Almohads had retaken Calatrava. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daveelescorial (talkcontribs) 20:51, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
