editCan't for the life of me work out if MV Agusta is a subsidiary of Cagiva, or vice-versa. I see sites on the web that indicate both ways round. Anyone know definitively which is the parent? 84.9.33.143 09:33, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Cagiva is the "parent" company. They currently own MV Agusta and Husqvarna, the latter is likely being sold to BMW, however, because of the name recognition, Cagiva uses MV Agusta as the name of the group. The Castiglioni brothers still run the show. From their website:

- 1991 The latest investment from CAGIVA: the MV Agusta brand is bought. In the motorcycling history, MV Agusta can't be compared with the rest. Absolute victories record, a legendary brand, an inexplicable emotion that never leaves their models. The buyout is the onset of a radical plan of investments aimed at polishing and renewing the myth MV.
- MV Agusta Motorcycles S.p.A. is the parent company, Castiglioni group bought MV Agusta in 91/92 (basically what they bought was the trademark). In 1999 the company was restructured. MV Agusta become the main brand comprising CAGIVA and Husqvarna. The Castiglioni brothers still run the company but for all intents and purposes the parent comapany is called MV Agusta Motorcycles S.p.A. Chris Ssk 09:53, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

CAGIVA
Born in 1978, the Firm produces a wide range of on road models, from 125 cc to 1000 cc, known for the good balance between style, technique and price. In 25 years of history the Cagiva brand has signed sport events like the victories conquered in the GP 500 World Championship by Eddie Lawson and Jhon Kocinski or the triumph in the Paris Dakar and in motocross races.
Castiglioni's mfg. company began in 1950, but did not officially "make" motorcycles until the 1979 model year. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HDCagivaFan (talk • contribs) 05:34, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
