Notability Banner edit

This article has a notoriety banner on it. This issue can be resolved in my view by citing some (of the many) papers based on the CICE model - I plan to do this in the next month but if somebody wants to make a start that would be great. Robbie Mallett (talk) 10:19, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the notability banner and have added substantial referencing to science journals, lectures or seminars, and general media articles. --Proteanplanet (talk) 19:09, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Article Title edit

If the official name of the model is the Los Alamos Sea Ice Model, than that should be the title of the article. It can redirect happily from CICE. Robbie Mallett (talk) 11:13, 8 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

The official name of the model is simply "CICE". It has variously been referred to in the literature as the Los Alamos Sea Ice Model, Community Ice Code, and CICE Consortium Sea Ice Model. However, it was decided at a workshop of Consortium users in 2016 that the name of the model should simply be "CICE". Information supporting this is available through the CICE consortium website, but I have not cited it in this article to avoid trivia clouding significant citable content. --Proteanplanet (talk) 19:43, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I was a little slow figuring what the acronym "CICE" stood for. I haven't found a reference to confirm this, but I'll assume it's just a cute way of saying "sea ice"... C ICE. Right? wbm1058 (talk) 13:53, 12 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
