Hi Andre

These entered service from early 1902 to early 1904, you have the basic info but, all were moved away from Table Bay by SAR and worked at Durban, Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontein, but to my knowledge no photos of them at any of these locations have yet surfaced. Anyway, details are below.

18 HE 766 Ex works 12.1901 To Durban, scrapped Durban Works 2/1935
19 HE 767 Ex works 12.1901 To Port Elizabeth, scrapped Uitenhage Works 5/1930
20 HE 768 Ex works 1.1902 To Durban, scrapped Durban Works 2/1935
21 HE 769 Ex works 3.1902 To Port Elizabeth, scrapped Uitenhage Works 6/1929
22 HE 770 Ex works 3.1902 To Port Elizabeth, scrapped Uitenhage Works 6/1929
23 HE 815 Ex works 6.1903 To Bloemfontein Works Shunter c1912, scrapped there 9/1932
24 HE 816 Ex works 6.1903 To Durban, scrapped Durban Works 2/1935
25 HE 817 Ex works 7.1903 To Durban, scrapped Durban Works 2/1935
26 HE 818 Ex works 7.1903 To Port Elizabeth, scrapped Uitenhage Works 1/1932
27 HE 819 Ex works 9.1903 To Bloemfontein Works Shunter, scrapped there 1/1935
28 HE 820 Ex works 10.1903 To Durban, scrapped Durban Works 1/1935

The Hunslet engine register shows them as delivered with rectangular numberplates reading "T.B.H. No. 18" etc.

Note that although all these were scrapped, the almost identical (it had 3'4" wheels rather than the 3'3" of the TB locos) HE 790 of 1902 which was latterly with ESCOM survives to this day.

Regards

John
