Contemporary Amperex TechnologyCATL – Per WP:COMMONNAME, by far most news articles refer to the company by its abbreviation, which is also their logo PhotographyEdits (talk) 12:47, 8 March 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk) 17:38, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 00:03, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Due to the WP:COMMONNAME claim, this is not a technical move. Needs discussion to be on the safe side in case there is a disagreement with this claim. Steel1943 (talk) 01:10, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Steel1943 On basis of what policy is a WP:COMMONNAME claim something that makes it a contested move? I've created probably tens of move requests based on such claims, which were honored without a discussion. PhotographyEdits (talk) 10:39, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
That claim is a matter of opinion, and to me, the WP:COMMONNAME claim wasn't inherently clear from what I saw. But, I'm not opposing or supporting the move: Best case scenario, no one else participates in this discussion, and the page gets moved since it was unopposed, which acts as a "de facto" consensus that moving a page as a "technical move" doesn't provide.
