Cat tien is the home for the largest Southeast Asian gaur population in VietNam, consisting of 70-80 animals. These magnificent beasts: 2m tall, 3.3m long, and up to 1.7 tons in body weight, are in grave danger of extinction in VietNam, so please protect them:

Coordinate error

{{geodata-check}}

The following coordinate fixes are needed for Cat Tien National Park

The current location appears to be in the East of Vinh Cu (=Dong Nai) Nature reserve.

A better location might be: 11°26′14.2″N 107°25′38.4″E / 11.437278°N 107.427333°E / 11.437278; 107.427333 - the ford / road divide where most visitors start their walks.

Alternatively, 11°27'36.71"N 107°22'28.05"E marks the centre of the visited forest in Nam Cat Tien on a larger scale - it is actually the start of the path to the crocodile lake.

It's a hard thing to assign coordinates to, as the park is divided into two noncontiguous parts (shown in the map at the bottom of this page). I've changed the coordinates to indicate a point near the center of the southern part, with suitable precision—degrees and minutes only—for a feature of this size. Look OK to you?
