main picture edit

We're saying "It should not be confused with chicken tikka masala" yet the picture of the dish is clearly the same dish as the picture used for the tikka masala page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CTM.jpg It's not the same picture per se, but was clearly taken of the same dish on the same occasion. Should find a better one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.164.47.149 (talk) 11:14, 18 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

They don't look like the same dish to me. The tikka masala looks paler. <Karlww (contribs|talk) 11:38, 5 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

complete recipe edit

Is a complete recipe really necessary or useful here? 82.113.133.7 14:09, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

No. Since it's been moved to wikibooks I've removed the non-encyclopedic parts. --Monotonehell 13:00, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merging makhani sauce here would be stupid, since many dishes aside from chicken can be made with makhani. Calaf 20:00, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

butter chicken is not made with pork...? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.229.239.169 (talk) 21:41, 29 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

butter chicken - traditional Murg Makhani recipe

I've been trying to find a recipe for BC that doesnt contain onions, which I know aren't tradtionally included. The external links Wikipedia use both include onion, which seems not appropriate. Any assistance?

Origin edit

It is clear the dish was developed in Peshawar, please stop vandalizing. Some delete the whole page and others change the top and don't even state sources or change the rest of the page leading to a mismatch. The source i cited stating the origin in Peshawar was kept as a reference for it being from Delhi by a troll. I'd request a roll back to my original edit on June 10th. Hman101 (talk) 07:44, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

No, it is you who is vandalising the page. The reliable sources mentioned on the page clearly states that the dish originated in Delhi at Moti Mahal restaurant of Kundan Kal Gujral. You are adding blogs as source, Wikipedia doesn't consider a blog a reliable source. Stop vandalising the page and stop pushing your POV on the page. 106.67.10.6 (talk) 06:55, 30 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Pak vandals edit

Some vandals from Pak are vandalising the page by adding 'Pakistan' and removing Kundan Kal Gujral's identity. The dish was invented by Kundan Kal Gujral, an Indian Hindu, there was no Packistan before 1947, stop adding ludicrous POV and ruining Wikipedia pages. 106.67.46.222 (talk) 05:01, 11 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

The dish is almost unknown in india edit

I am an indian and I know that the dish is almost unknown in most part of India including where I stay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 106.211.141.184 (talk) 15:45, 2 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

By geolacting your IP address, you live in Calcutta. If you go to south India, the cuisine there is very different than the north. In the north, staples include wheat based foods, such as naan and roti. In the south, it's very different. If you want to add that, please find a reliable source and then add it. Thank you. Who invented butter chicken? edit

The pages for Kundan Lal Gujral and Kundan Lal Jaggi both claim that each are the sole inventor of butter chicken. It seems there are camps supporting both theories, but with little evidence I know of? What is known, I think, is that the dish originated at Moti_Mahal_(restaurant). New Delhi edit

The article currently says the dish originated in New Delhi. That seems odd to me, that the dish came from New Delhi, rather than Delhi. The references only mention Delhi. New Delhi is relatively young and a small part of the entire city. 2601:240:CB00:C0:55F4:7610:F5F:88E4 (talk) 19:56, 18 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree, the sources all seem to say "Delhi" and not "New Delhi". I'll change it.  — RTao (talk • contribs) 04:57, 24 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Protection edit

Requesting for protection of the page from future vandals 2409:40F3:1097:1724:8000:0:0:0 (talk) 16:03, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

You can do that at WP:RFPP. In this case, though, the last edit was over a week ago, so I don't think it needs protection. Also, the vandalism seems to have come from a single IP, who has been plenty warned (see User talk:46.106.223.59), so if it starts up again, WP:AIV would be the most efficient way to protect things. signed, Willondon (talk) 16:17, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
