Status of the article edit

Without all the blatant promotion that was added recently, I think this is a useful article. The subject is notable because of the company's claim as the first drive-through in Western Canada, because of its longevity, and because of the multiple and widespread locations. Sources edit

Anybody else bothered by the fact that the entire article seems to depend on Yellow Pages entries? I can't even find evidence to support the claim that it's now headquartered in Edmonton (and have removed that from the infobox). Pairadox (talk) 05:18, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

While the Yellow Page lack a certain gravitas that doesn't mean they are a bad source. Regarding the head office, I simply put Edmonton in the infobox because that was the company address that the yellow pages gave, but if HQ are somewhere else, and there is evidence for that, then put that it. To the annon. editor claiming to speak for the company, your best course of action isn't to edit this page, that's a conflict of interest. You'd be better off finishing your company's own (disapointing) page and putting useful information there that our editors can use. -Kevlar67 (talk) 17:40, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

What is the official site? edit

The website listed in the infobox has very little information and seems to be about something else. I added a link to burgerbaron.net, which is listed in the yellowpages source as the main site. I also added a link to a Vue Weekly review that is probably a better source than the advertorial listing at edmontonplus.ca. Flowanda | Talk 01:36, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Relationship to Burger King Drive Inn? edit

Edmonton used to have a chain of restaurants called Burger King that also held the franchise to KFC until legal action ended this in the late 1970s (although not all KFCs were Burger Kings - Duggan, for example). Here's the case law: [1]

It also held the rights to the "Burger King" name, which kept out the US Burger King chain, at least from Alberta, until the 1990s. Several of the old BKs are now Burger Barons, and it may have been the origin of BB's signature mushroom burger.

The headquarters of Burger King Enterprises was at 9501 111 ave, 429-3708 (according to the 1976 Edmonton phone book) - now a Burger Baron. The restaurants:

BURGER KING DRIVE-INNS
No 1. 8230 112 ave 477-5321
No 2. 10609 124 st 488-9343
No 3. 7615 101 ave 466-6888
No 4. 8505 109 st 433-0071
No 5. 9908 70 ave 433-0994 - now Burger Baron
No 6. 15250 111 ave 484-3945 - now Burger Baron
No 7. 13010 97 st 476-5919 - later KFC
No 8. 9335 Connors rd 469-2224
No 9. 12425 118 ave 454-8001 - now Burger Baron
No 10. 11068 95 st 424-2642 - now Burger Baron
No 11. 10056 56 st 489-0883

If anyone can supply more info, that would be great, because a Burger King (Alberta) article is long overdue, even as a footnote in Burger King and Edmonton history.
