Oh, Get Over It? edit

That's an interesting edit summary [1]. On top of it all, Makuszynski lived in this Lithuanian village for two years. That's even a better reason than Polish was the "official" language of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as the rationale for this nationalist trolling. When is that one going to be resurrected again? Yes, truly the world won't end by not having the undue Polish geographical toponym placed in every Lithuanian city, town, village, hamlet, and neighborhood on English Wikipedia. Maybe it's you who should get over it. Dr. Dan (talk) 04:23, 4 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Care to provide a diff supporting your personal attack of "nationalist trolling"?Volunteer Marek (talk) 04:48, 4 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Don't waste your time... instead, here's - per WP:NCGN - an analysis of which names are used in English:
Burbiškis village: 0 results
Burbiszki village: 3 results
I think this makes it clear that the Polish name is useful and relevant, and fullfills the requirement of "at least 10% (sic) of English sources use this name". --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 03:26, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Indeed [strange result] 394. Oh my.--Lokyz (talk) 03:59, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
On the subject of strange links, compare Google to Google Books. And then click on this. Yes, 2.610. Breathe. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 04:28, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
I clicked on the link and got Burbiszki mixed up with Burbiškis. Two different towns. Breathing is healthy. Dr. Dan (talk) 05:55, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Controlling for Lithuania in books, we still get 0 vs 2. And on plain Google, 1,4k vs 1,9k. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 18:04, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Such numbers can prove only one thing - the village is not important on a global scale and this discussion is a vaste of time.--Lokyz (talk) 21:24, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ditto! I also agree with this part of the edit summary, "the world didn't end", concerning the subject, but not the part about Makuszynski. His two year residency doesn't cut it. His death mask is way too large, btw. Dr. Dan (talk) 00:59, 6 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
