According to the corresponding de: article, there are plans to re-route an antiquated stretch east of Aichelberg and west of Hohenstadt; and it is proposed that tolls will be charged on that planned replacement section, presumably to pay off the project...Ranma9617 06:31, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Alligator Alley

I remember in the 1970s there was one stretch east of Stuttgart that some American servicemembers referred to as "Alligator Alley", which I think was a reference to some very sharp curves and inclines on the A8 where it went through a pass. It might be worth mentioning this area in a future expansion of the article, especially if Germans have their own phrase for this stretch. -Rolypolyman 21:18, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Just from having a curious noodle-around on Google maps, I think it might be the section around Eselhöfe, where it splits to take one carriageway around each side of the hill - like northern/mountainous parts of the M6 or M62 in England, but in a more extreme manner? (In fact it puts more more in mind of a particularly entertaining Cumbrian section of the A66 more than anything ... also there are notable convoys of trucks, particularly in the northern direction where there's considerable congestion visible on that map, with the only reason I can see being low-performance cars straggling past the long line of trucks, which are presumably grinding up a long gradient at about 50km/h) 82.46.180.56 (talk) 15:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Info box has a mistake. I don't know to change. Exit Limbach is not Limbach (Neckar-Odenwald). Please change to Limbach (Kirkel) ManfredV (talk) 14:58, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
