Talk:Bum flap

Excuse me, I found this article about bum flaps ridiculously informative. Do you mind if I use it in my master's thesis entitiled "Bum Flaps: How and Why Did Cum To This?"

-I always thought bum-flaps were actually flannel shirts tied around the waist and dangling in the back. I had no idea they were a separate article of clothing

Ridiculous edit

Seriously, first it says they first appeared in Vivienne Westwoods SEX shop, and then that they were on pyjammas and military clothing. That's a major contradiction, even Westwood herself admits she doesn't know what purpose they serve other than aesthetics; I seriously doubt they protect from cold weather (among other things). Also the original Vivienne Westwood bumflaps were made of terry cloth, the longer tartan versions worn on the front and back of the bondage trousers were called kilt flaps. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.63.200.10 (talk) 21:16, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ridiculous is the word. This article should either be rewritten by someone who actually knows what they're talking about and has a grasp of English and Wikipedia style, or deleted. Languagehat (talk) 21:35, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to change some stuff here, I've worn butt flaps for nearly pure utiliatrian purposes, and I would assume that is the original intent. Wear the same pants for a weeks on the street and see what pavement will do to the ass.--3M3RY (talk) 08:53, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pictures edit

Without some pictures this pages seems pretty pointless. Pictures of decorative bum-flaps would be nice. 3M3RY (talk) 17:26, 28 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
