Article name edit

Where did the name Buoisel come from? I thought it was that other japanese name... Toastypk 19:13, 3 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I suspect that this romanization, like Parrap, is original research. That is, I have found absolutely no source to confirm either of these spellings as authentic, unlike Lucario and Manaphy which were confirmed by trademark filings and, in the former's case, various publications and merchandise. Wonk619 14:50, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
The names Buoisel and Parrap were not confirmed, but there's a 99% percent chance that these are the original names like Lucario and Manaphy, as these names are valid romanizations and make sense in reference to the Pokemon - Perappu = Parrapu (Parrot) and the "u" in the end is always an additive. ErezR 15:50, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
While those names may be logical ones, the official spellings may be slightly different (ex: Buoysel, Parrup). Therefore, until there are confirmed official romanizations, I suggest that these articles be left as Buizeru and Perappu. Wonk619 01:27, 5 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Now the name was changed again. I'm thinking someone needs to look at this and find the real name ASAP. Toastypk 22:06, 21 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
According to Pokémon Center Online, Buoysel is the "real" name. Wonk619 00:06, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Is Pokemon Center Online an official site?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.133.193.225 (talk) 14:51, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Changed "be incredibly be high" to "be incredibly high" you'll can say thankyou later--Tomcowie 16:58, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Deletion edit

Like with Parrap, I question the rationale behind the original deletion of this. The words "suspected hoax" were added to Parrap's page when it was re-created in the poorly-formatted deletion tags, but this is an official Nintendo site that includes the image. --HeroicJay 08:54, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I put the deletion tag there in accordance with Wikipedia:How to fix cut and paste moves, because the article was improperly moved via cut and paste from the correct title, Buizeru. Wonk619 14:50, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It could still change edit

It [the name] could still change. Look at what happened with Snubbull. It went through an entire mini-movie with the wrong name. Almighty Rajah 23:58, 25 June 2006 (UTC)AlmightyRajahReply

Dawn or Ash edit

I'm getting really annoyed as to who keep changing Ash catching Buizel to Dawn catching it. It's Ash who catches it already!

It is currently unknown who will catch it. All we know is that SOMEONE will be catching it, as it's with them in a trailer for the movie. Lets just change it to it will appear in whatever episode. This appears to be the only way without speculating. -Sukecchi 18:59, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
See? This is why you don't speculate. Clearly you were wrong, as it was Dawn who caught Buizel. -Sukecchi 19:19, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

National Dex: 442 edit

As Buoysel is confirmed to be #56 in the SHinou Pokédex, I have added it as #442 in the National Pokédex. However, I do realise that there may be some Kanto/Johto/Hoenn Pokémon before it, so feel free to change it. Double Dash 15:24, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

And I've removed it. We don't yet know that the Shinou Pokédex will continue from the end of the National one, or that the Nat'l dex will even appear in D&P. Please don't add supposition, even if it seems logical on the surface. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 15:36, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Buizel edit

I added something near the top about Buizel not being official yet. Hopefully that will cut down the number of changes and moves. Cipher (Yell) 10:53, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Buoysel is pronunciated Buizel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.91.24.166 (talkcontribs)
Doesn't matter. Buoysel is currently the official Romanization - Buizel is not the official name. Cipher (Yell) 17:18, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
And here we go again...BDragon 18:47, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

It will be on the 9th movie.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.91.57.112 (talk) 17:53, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

It IS official, it has been confirmed. -Eriorguez—The preceding signed but undated comment was added at 21:43, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Officially confirmed where? Do you have a source for this?—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 21:59, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Also, according to the Reliable sources guideline (but not policy):
  • Replicability—The conclusions of the source can be reached using the information available and there is no indication of gaps in the thinking or process of derivation. Essentially, this criterion asks if there are any leaps of faith in the source.
  • Declaration of sources—A source which is explicit about the data from which it derives its conclusions is more reliable than one which does not. Ideally, a source should describe the collection process and analysis method.
  • Confidentiality—Sources which are considered confidential by the originating publisher may hold uncertain authority. Given that the original cannot be used to validate the reference, these should be treated with caution.
Serebii hasn't made a conclusion that can be duplicated with the available information, and he hasn't declared his source(s). That makes his information sort of sketchy.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 22:14, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
The 9th movie.(yell)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.91.87.13 (talk) 23:33, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Could you explain that? We already know it's going to be in the 9th movie, if that's what you're saying.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 23:37, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
There's a little problem with your 9th movie idea- it hasn't been released in the U.S. yet. We haven't heard Buoysel's name in English yet, and although Serebii is reliable, it's still a fansite. So, we have to wait for April 3rd to come around for an official name. Hello2112 00:02, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The fansite Psypokes.com does not listen to Serebii.net.

But is Psypoke reliable? No. Fansites are not official sources, do not invoke them for name changes. I have had to go through the crap with Chatot; I can say from experience that it is hellaceous. Wait until it's officially announced by Nintendo, 9th movie or no. -Jeske (v^_^v) 03:27, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
The Match 'n' Catch game confirmed "Buizel" as its US name. - Mitsumasa 13:18, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chatot is official because the dub said its name is Chatot. Buizel is official because of this image of merchandise at the 2007 Toy Fair in New York: *http://www.asmzine.com/toyfair07/gallery/Jakks-Pacific/Pokemon/slides/IMG_6724.jpg](MidnightScott)

Kay, fixed your things (including changing your blurb in the intro into a cite). Pokeadmin? -Jeske (v^_^v) 21:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Somebody move this page to Buizel. - Mitsumasa 16:59, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Survey - in support of the move edit

  1. Support. Putting the Japanese Romanization above an English name, even if it is later changed, is ridiculous. This wasn't controversial, and the "controversy" would have never been brought up if the redirect didn't have history. ' 19:06, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
  2. Support. I myself requested such a move by an Admin a while ago when "Buizel" was confirmed. -Jeske (v^_^v) 19:33, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
